Gerber Prodigy

December 12, 2014 Parker Clemens

Everyone over the age of nine should own a knife. I have many knives with many functions. I plan to acquire many more. Yet there is one knife that has secured its place on every hiking/camping/fishing excursion I find myself. The Gerber Prodigy is that knife. It is a heavy duty partially serrated fixed blade knife designed for power and comfort. It is a work horse and for under $40, I have yet to find a better knife. I use this knife to split fire wood, prep meals, whittle sticks and everything in between. I am impressed and so is the scrupulous Amazon.com crowd, giving the knife a 4.8/5 star review. A well designed sheath accompanies this US made knife. Also, this knife doesn’t have that stupid Bear Grylls logo on it, which is a plus. Gerber Prodigy $38
